THE STORY
Whenever possible, after a day in the studio I head out for a walk somewhere in nature to clear my head, welcome new ideas and learn what I can about my surroundings. Everything in this painting is inspired by these hikes which take place all over Vancouver Island.

The flowers, mushrooms, and leaves weren’t all found in one place, they’re a collection of things found throughout a day’s hike.

It’s kind of like curating a bouquet of vegetation native to Vancouver Island and then adding a view of Triple Peak (one of the higher Mountains on Vancouver Island) into the background.

THE PAINTING
This is a one-of-a-kind acrylic painting on canvas measuring 14 x 18 inches. It is framed, ready to hang, signed, dated and then varnished with a UV coating so the colors will not fade over time.

THE FRAME
Price includes a beautiful frame custom made from solid Walnut. The simple transparent finish highlights the natural characteristics of the wood, its knots, checks, and color variation. This frame features profiles with simple lines, a nod to Mid-Century Modern American furnishings.
